Fun, Fun, and More Fun!!

Between Fort Yargo, movies, Hurricane Shoals, and skating we've had a couple of very busy days! It makes me wonder what Ky and I are going to do this fall and winter when outside activities are limited, I think we might go stir crazy! We went to a wedding rehersal on Friday, watched (part) of a movie in the park on Saturday (Ky couldn't sleep through the noise, the speakers were really loud), went to the wedding on Sunday (beautiful, and I cried... surprise surprise), Monday was the day we went to replace my phone and saw a movie in the theater, Tuesday we went to Hurricane Shoals and skating (which was super fun!), and today we went to Fort Yargo. Tomorrow we will probably stay home... we'll see :)

Another post from a NEW blackberry. My original one got puked on by a very sweet, and slightly sick baby boy. He's been spitting up a lot more lately, I'm really hoping it's just something in my diet or maybe the heat getting to him, and not a prelude to something more serious :( We've spent most of the day tring to get AT&T to replace my phone since it's only been 23 days, they finally did at the third store we drove to. Now mom, dad, josh, Ky, me, and ALL of the kids are on the way to Athens to see a discount move ($2 The Back Up Plan &/or How To Train Your Dragon). I'm pretty weary of how Ky is going to do, we might have to skip it if he won't fall asleep... We'll see!!! I'm really missing Drew, Lauren, and Tab :( Thankfully I will be seeing Drew and Tab for sure next Wednesday and hopefully LaLa soon after that!! Yay for a trip to TX!

Wedding Day

Josh's best friend, Don is getting married today :) Josh is the best man, of course, and I can't wait to see him in his tux! When I woke up this morning I started thinking of the morning of OUR wedding.  It was raining, and I was freaking out! We were all on the internet trying to find tent rentals and prices for last minute, lol. Luckily it stopped raining in plenty of time for the ceremony. I remember showing up for my hair appointment with two insanely different flip flops on. One was faded red and almost too little, and one was Josh's, about 5 sizes too big, and black. I still can't believe that I put those on, drove to the salon, and didn't notice until I was walking in the door. Crazy day :) The rest of the day was truly magical, and there are definitely memories that I will never forget! I wish Don and Lisa all the best, though. :) I hope they have a fantastic day, minus the craziness!!

K&K :)

I love being busy (with the occasional day off, of course) We went to Hurrican Shoals yesterday, and to the lake today. Kyra with her two kiddos went with us to HS, and we had a really good time. Our babies are growing up, with Keira already crawling everywhere and Ky not far behind her! It was super hard to get both of them to look at the camera!

I love babies!! I could just cuddle up every baby that I see, poppy diapered/snotty nosed or not :) They make me happy!! I wanted to kiss all over Miss Keira, but she would have none of it, lol. Kyson wanted to touch her face, but I was afraid he might accidentally scratch her, so that was kept to a minimum, but they played great together otherwise!

new pics... really!

Ky loves sleeping on our bed! He'll sleep for hours in there, especially at inappropriate times, like 2am, and taking a two hour nap, making us late for the Father's Day breakfast at mom's! :) But isn't he just the cutest thing laying there snoozing away? The flash from my camera didn't even wake him up!

Joshua is truly truly a wonderful dad! He is such a blessing to both Kyson and myself :) We honestly couldn't ask for a better man in our lives. I think he enjoyed his first father's day (maybe because we both went off of our diet all day, lol), and I know we made some memories! I love looking at these two together.

This is my Dad, Josh, and my oldest brother Brian, all trying to figure out how to mount my Dad's father's day present ... a 42" TV. When they finally got it up, it didn't work!! Dad had to make a trip back to the store to get a replacement, but then he watched NASCAR for the rest of the day... he was happy :)

"What are these things, mom? I don't wear shorts!! Where's my diaper?!?!" Hehehe, this is the first pair of shorts Ky has worn.... ever?    Yep... I'm pretty sure he has never worn a pair of shorts before. When it got hot enough to wear shots, I baisically just started leaving him in just a diaper.

He got in this position all by himself!! My big boy!! He only stayed there for like 3 seconds, and didn't really GO anywhere, but he is so darn close!!! I'm dreading and looking forward to him crawling all at the same time.

He was talking to me. "Mom, I am trying to play here. Thank you for letting me be nakey for a while, but please get that camera out of my face!" :)
I'm posting from my blackberry! Yay!

Happy Father's Day! I found my camera so I will hopefully have lots of new pics by the end of the day :) I got josh a set of new books that he wanted and a funny card. As soon as Kyson wakes up from a nap (that little stinker sleeps incredibly sound on OUR bed, and hardly at all in HIS bed) we're headed down to mom's for a big breakfast. Jen is in town, and Brian's coming by to visit also. We're missing a big chunck of family though. Tab and Lauren are both in TX, Drew is with his bio dad for a few weeks, and Destinee is still at basic. :( I'm definitely gonna miss them!!

8 months old in 5 more days

Kyson in his new outfit for Don and Lisa's (Josh's best friend from school, and his fiancee) wedding :) Such a handsome little man! I could look at him all day.

Ky went to bed at 8pm and didn't nurse until 4:40am :) Woo Hoo!!! he wasn't in his bed though :( I went and got him after he had cried for about an hour... that is just a little too long in my opinion. And luckily in this instance my opinion is what counts, lol.

I bought some supplies to start scrap booking recently. My first project was our vacation to TN. It is turning out really great. All I have to do is write in some dates and details :) I sat down last night to start on another... and almost started to cry! Can you guess what it was about? Ky's delivery day :) Sometimes it seems like it was forever ago, and some days it seems like it's only been a few weeks, NOT almost 8 months! It's definitely going to be a roller coaster on my emotions to get this scrapbook finished. I'm doing his whole first year, starting with month by month and then throwing in some holidays and other special events (like his first braves game).

Today should be a relevently boring day. Josh is working 6am-2pm and then again 5-9, so it's just me and Ky all day!

new pics

I don't actually have any new pictures :( I just really need to take some! I usually carry my camera around with me everywhere, but for the past week or so it has been laying next to the couch in the living room, getting dusty. I love having so many pics of Ky, I know I will never regret taking so many. I can't wait (well, I DON'T want to wish away time, I'm just looking forward to an awesome future) until he is 25 or 30 with kids of his own and we can compare baby pictures. Or in the not-to-distant future (no, I am not pregnant, lol) comparing his baby pictures to that of his little brother (hopefully) or sister :)

He's laying next to me on the couch right now, sleeping. He went down in his crib, but woke up after 45 minutes, and I knew he hadn't got his nap out yet, so I snuggled him up in the glider in his room and he went back to sleep almost immediately. Last night didn't really go that great :/   I cheated. He went to sleep at 8pm, woke up at 9 (rocked him back to sleep), again at 10 (rocked him back to sleep), and AGAIN at 10:30. Since it was kind of unusual for him to wake up that many times I didn't feel right about letting him CIO. I undressed him (until he was just in a FuzziBunz) and put him in the bed with us, since it was pretty toasty inside. He slept till 6:30 and only nursed twice, which is just about his usual if he sleeps with us. It wouldn't be that big of a deal to co-sleep with him(I love snuggling with him), except that we only have a full sized bed, and Josh and I aren't thin people by any means!! And on top of that Ky is a bit of a squirmer. I can't wait until we are financially stable enough to get our own house, because we will definitely be getting at least a KING sized bed :) then I will co-sleep with all of my babies!!! lol.

We went to the lake today, before Josh had to go in to work. It was very relaxing. Josh took Ky in to the water(I have to shed a few pounds before I will wear a bathing suit in public) and he loved it. He truly is a water baby. I had to stop by DG and pick up stinking diposable swim diapers b/c I coundn't find his cloth one anywhere :( 10 swimmies cost me $8!! And they will all go in the trash, in a landfill! AND they had gross chemicals in them, AND they were plasticy/crunch and I am assuming not the most comfotable thing he could wear :( I only paid $12 for his reusable one, and he cn use it until he grows out of it (not this summer) and it can be reused for other babies! UGH, just a black spot on an otherwise great day!

great start to the day

Ky slept from 8pm to 4am :) He did cry at 11pm, but it didn't last nearly as long as previous nights! So he nursed at 4 and at 6:30, which is when he woke up. Josh got up with him, and I got to sleep in until 8, when I got up to work out with a friend. I cam home, took a shower, and nursed Ky to sleep :) So now I get an hour to straighten and get ready to go to Hamilton Mill. We went negative in bank account... oooops! Only $.29 though, so we just have to go deposit some cash that Josh made in tips at the Tea Garden, no big deal. And we'll probably eat lunch out while we're there!! I really love working out, especially once I get passed the sore muscles and out of breath stage! Can't wait until that happens!!!

Too many thoughts!

I have too many thoughts bouncing around in my head tonight. I think of one topic and before I can type anything out another one pops in to my head!!

I got in Mom's pool today with Ky. He absolutely loved it! He was kicking and kicking his little legs and splashing and screaming, it was too cute. He kept putting his face in the water, trying to drink it. We only stayed in for about 15 minutes because the water was cold, and we didn't have on any sunblock. Kyson's skin is naturally tan, and I'm sure he wouldn't burn very easily, but I, on the other hand, burn within minutes...seriously.

Tab is leaving for TX tomorrow morning, and we wont see her for awhile. We might go visit her in a couple of weeks for a second vacation :) it's just a "maybe" though, we don't have any set plans. The biggest downfall is the 16 hour drive with an 8 month old :/ so I'll have to be pretty brave to take it on!!!

Our second anniversary is a week from today :) I love my little family and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING in the whole world!! The traditional gift at the two year mark is cotton... and guess what that means for me?!?! More diapers! LOL. I really need to get on the ball and figure something out for Josh though. Any ideas are welcome! Although, you'll need to e-mail them to me ( b/c he reads my blog :) haha babe!

CIO :'(

I'm letting Kyson cry it out at night now. It's so incredibly heartbreaking! I just decided that I couldn't take getting up every two hours or less. He's actually doing really well. Last night he slept from 8pm to 8am and only nursed twice.

I worked out last night :) It was just a quick 30 minute work out video that I did with one of my sisters and a family friend, but it made me feel good, lol. If I could ever get in the habit of exercising I would fall back in love with it. It's just hard to find the energy and the time!!

I've finally used up the very last disposable diaper that we have, and I've ordered the extra hemp inserts that we use for night time :) Hopefully we wont have to buy any disposables EVER again!!

I can't figure out how to blog from my blackberry. I'm not entirely sure that it is impossible, I just haven't spent enough time fooling around on the site I guess. Ky and I are both feeling better. He still has a half stuffy/half runny nose. And I really really hope that my sense of smell is off and I didn't smell that stinkiest of stink smells that indicates an ear ache :( We're supposed to go out to dinner with friends tomorrow, so I am praying that he doesn't regress any. I got some scrapbooking supplies at a really good deal today, so I'm going to scrap book our Vacation to TN, Josh's graduation, and maybe Ky's first year. I did one for our honeymoon, way back in the day (holy cow, it's almost been TWO YEARS!!) and it turned out really well, and I love to look back on it now. It brings back not only memories, but the feeling I had when we were in Florida. Josh and I are both still attempting to eat healthy, although I did have a sandwich on sour dough french bread today, instead of on the healthy organic whole wheat :) I needed to eat the sour dough so that it wouldn't get stale!!!

Ky had trouble getting to sleep tonight. He went to bed around 8, which is his usual time, but then was back up 45 minutes later... I tried rocking him back to sleep, but he wasn't having it. I finally laid him on a pillow in the living room floor and he watched Kate Plus 8 until he fell asleep. Then I went and laid him back in his bed about 15 minutes ago, and hopefully he'll stay in there for awhile!

Life in the fast lane

Why would anyone ever want to live life in the fast lane? There is so much to enjoy and discover, that I want to savor very moment I have! Just thinking out loud a little...

I got a new BLACKBERRY!! :) And I'm a little excited, can't you tell?! I think it has a major learning curve, but I think in a couple of days I'll have it figured out :) Ky is feeling a little better, as am I :) Tab is sitting in my living room floor, playing with him in his saucer. She opened her mouth and he tried to give her a bite of his teething biscuit... ICKY ICKY! He gets so incredibly disgusting when he has one of those! But it was still really cute! My baby is growing up!! Drew came to stay with me for an hour or so this morning, I can remember him as a teeny baby, holding him in the rocking chair (which is in fact in the very same spot in the very same house as I'm sitting at right while his mom took a shower. Sometimes I think life goes by a little too fast!!!

I've decided to "go green", lol. It's slowly been happening without my really knowing it. I wanted to breastfeed, because that was what was best for both Kyson and I (mostly Ky). That meant no artificial ingredients entering his body, just my milk :) Then I switched to cloth diapers. Mainly because of the expense and because they are just so darn cute, the fact that they were good for the earth was just a bonus, really. Then, when it came time to start solids with Kyson, I wanted him to have organic food. I just felt better about knowing that I wasn't putting any extra chemicals in his body. This week I bought re-usable grocery bags, and bought all organic groceries. Milk, eggs, butter, cheese, squash, zucchini, green beans, carrots, asparagus, oatmeal, jelly, peanut butter, yogurt... that's all I can think of for now. The selection was somewhat limited. First we went to Wal-Mart, because that is where we usually do our shopping at. BUT they had barely anything organic. Later in the day, after Josh went to work, I left Ky with Mom and Tab and went down the road to Publix. I had a much easier time there!! I'm looking for other things to do in our daily lives that is better for us as a family AND the earth. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them!!!

LaLa the photographer!

Goodness, I didn't realize how much had happened here recently! Those first two pictures are indeed Kyson David, he looks like a different baby without his hair! Tab gave him a bath for me in his Nana's kitchen sink. He is definitely a water baby, even when he was a newborn he loved it!

I got an excellent shot of Lauren running to me after washing her hands (after eating a doughnut). She is definitely a cutie :) Then she decided that it needed to be her turn to take pictures... I ended up with a picture of just about every single toy that Ky has, lol. Plus the pic of her feet, of me smiling goofy, and of Ky rolled up in his quilt.

The last picture is of Ky in his newest BSRB. This is the one that he won from the May Photo Contest :) We got to pick the fabric and the inner (fleece or velour). It turned out great!

Saturday evening we went to a local concert in the park. It was sponsored by a local church, New Community, that we have visited a few times. The music was great (mostly oldies), they had free hamburgers and hot dogs with chips and soda. And they also had free pop corn and snow cones, that all of the kids enjoyed! It is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends. They do a couple of events like this a year, sometimes a concert and sometimes a movie, and we are definitely looking forward to attending them all!

Kyson is sick :( I am sick :( That is not a good combination. I think we both have a cold. Poor little guy doesn't want to sleep laying down because his nose is so stuffy. He slept while I held him in the rocker for just about the last two hours. I nursed him and now he's laying in the swing (it's not swinging). Hopefully he'll get some restful sleep in there. I'm watching the Kate Plus 8 special... one of the few TV shows that I watch :)

I had planned for this to be a long post, since I haven't written in a while, but Ky is already stirring in the swing, so I will cut it short... hopefully we get some decent sleep, and he (and I ) recover quickly and I'll be back on here to tell tales and post pictures soon!!!

Friday, June 4, 2010

Today turned out surprisingly good :) I was down at mom's for most of it. I really wish I had had my camera at one point, Ky was being absolutely hilarious! He started fake coughing, which isn't unusual, especially when he wants attention, but Tabitha fake coughed back at him and the pattern went on and on! He was so darn funny! Hannah, my 10 year old little sister is a natural with kids, maybe the most natural I've ever seen! I don't let the kids tend to him much, just because of the typical chaos, but today she held him and watched him for probably 15 minutes and did wonderfully! It makes me happy to see that for some reason...

I got all of my diaper laundry done today :) That's never a downer! The inserts and doublers are in the dryer and all of the shells are hanging to dry (all over the house). I'm STILL missing two diapers that I ordered more than 6 weeks ago... It actually makes me really mad, not because they're having difficulties on their end, but because I can't seem to get a straight answer from them. They wont tell me when they're going to get here!! I love my cloth diapers, and I know I'm a bit of an addict :) I have $10 to spend at, and I have NO IDEA what I'm going to buy with it... I really want another hanging wet bag (water proof bag for dirty diapers). The one I have, when it is completely packed full, really isn't a full load to wash. And I should also probably buy some hemp inserts for overnight diapering, because Kyson nurses all night long and therefore pees all night long and has to have TWO of them in a diaper, along with a microfiber insert. Even then he is soaking wet in the morning (Well, the diaper is, not him. It is a stay dry liner, so he doesn't feel wet). And I wanted to get another bag of Rockin Green laundry soap. Regular soap (and fabric softener) can leave residue buildup on cloth diapers, and affects the absorbency of the material. Rockin Green is awesome! First it smells WONDERFUL, and second the diapers come out feeling super soft! Enough about diapers though... I could go on for DAYS, lol.

Tomorrow, if it doesn't rain, we are headed to a concert in the park. It should be a fun day, except for the fact that my little LaLa is leaving :(

Sleep? What's that?

You would think that, sleep deprived mom that I am, I would be napping right now. Nope. I don't know why, probably because I have too much to do (writing on my blog doesn't exactly make the list). Ky woke up every two hours or so last night. We didn't go to bed until around midnight (movie night), and then we were up at 6am.  He just nursed and then fell asleep in the swing. And here I am... not sleeping. Today is Joshua's long day at work. 7-3 and then 5-9. I'm feeling a little sick, maybe a cold? I did get a load of baby laundry done though :) I made myself some peach oatmeal for breakfast, and gave Ky a taste.. mistake. He wanted to dive into the bowl! Take into account that he had just nursed about 45 minutes before. But he ended up eating probably two tablespoons of it, until Ni Hao Kai Lan  caught his attention... stinker baby :) That was his first meal that wasn't organic.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

I'm really going to miss my little LaLa this summer. She's going to visit her dad in Texas for two months :( As sad as I am going to be, I can not imagine what Tab is going to do... probably a lot of praying. Tab is going to rent an apartment in Texas so that she can be close by for spur of the moment visits, so I'll be missing her too!! Boo :( I hope Josh is going to get a job at some point this summer. Well, let me rephrase that. He has a job, and works hard to support us. I just hope he gets a job where all of his hard work pays a little better :) But then that means that he will probably be working more hours and driving further away, so he'll be home even less :(  Jen is in Nashville, Destinee is at basic training, DJ is visiting with his biological dad (he found a job doing yard work), Krishawnda is working about 30-35 hours a week, Doreese is 18 and has started to spread her wings, not to mention she has a job working about 20 hours a weeks. All of the little kids are busy all summer with Vacation Bible School and summer camps. I have a feeling this summer is going to be a bummer! At least I'll have my cutie pie of a son to keep me happy. All I ever have to do is stop and look at him,and even if he's screaming at the top of his lungs, I remember how incredibly blessed I am to have such a wonderful little boy :) I'll have to look at him a lot this summer!!!!

Thunder storms

BOO for rain :( It's rained an insane amount here lately. The ground outside is soaking soppy wet. Josh left his windows cracked last night (haha) but got up this morning and opened the doors to let everything air out and dry when we had  patch of sunlight. I made myself some hot chocolate, but it didn't really hit the spot, I REALLY want a Starbucks, so much so that I might load Kyson into the car and venture out into the storm to get one. But first I will definitely call Tab to see if she's had her fix today (I'm about 99% sure she has, but it's worth a try!). The thunder woke Ky up from a nap, he had only been asleep for about 10 minutes, so he was super cranky. Luckily I think he is about to drop back off to sleep in the swing. Now if this storm would just drop off for an hour or so!

I got two new diapers in the mail a couple of days ago, and washed and dried them last night. They're great, very absorbent and super cute. I think my favorite diaper though is probably a GoodMama, but their customer service is seriously lacking. I ordered 4 diapers on April 17th, got two of them on May 19th, and am STILL waiting on the other two. I e-mailed them, and they said they thought they shipped with the first two. Ummm... NO, they definitely did NOT. :( Hopefully I can get it resolved, b/c they really are great diapers! I'm hoping to buy a pair of snap pliers so that I can put snaps on all of my diapers, it's just much easier to deal with, but I haven't quite talked myself into it yet. All of diapers are completely functional as they are, with a Snappi fastener... we'll see.

The Mall of Georgia

Tab and I took Kyson, Andrew, Lauren, and Tyler to the mall today. The kids all played in the fountain and had lots of fun. I put Ky on his swim diaper, which is supposed to hold poo in, but not pee (a little gross in my opinion, but really you know all little kids pee in the pool). He was super cute, but I was holding him and he peed on me :) My fault of course, I knew it didn't hold pee in!!! Tab and my little sister Kieanna shopped a little, while I stayed with the little kids. We all had Chic-fil-a and then went to cool off inside with a DQ Blizzard. Now we're at home and I'm babysitting some of my little brothers and sisters and my niece. Life is good! I made every body sit down so I could take a picture, they're all in play clothes, lol.
