It's funny what you get excited about when you're a mom :) I'm totally happy when Ky poops after being constipated, gets a new super cute comfy cloth diaper, wakes up really happy after a long nap, CUTS A TOOTH (or two), sits up for the first time, gives me a big smile when I walk into his nursery after cleaning for a bit :) Those things make me HAPPY... truly. It's great how much a baby can simplify life.

On the flip side... Josh and I decided to go out to a rare lunch at a sit down restaurant. Kyson had been down for his nap for about 30 minutes (his usual naps last from 30-45 minutes, occasionally he'll sleep a full hour). We both got dressed, I got the diaper bag packed, Kyson's outfit laid out, brought the car seat out from the nursery... and we waited and waited. Kyson slept for 1 hour and 45 minutes!! Josh had to go in to work at 2, so we ended up eating PB&J :)

At least he woke up in a super happy mood!

date night

Last night Tabitha (sister # 1) kept Kyson for Josh and I to go out to eat. Moe's is pretty much my favorite, except that their dessert menu is seriously lacking variety. Of course I'm supposed to be trying to eat healthy anyway, so who needs dessert, right? HA! My ginormous sweet tooth thinks otherwise (thanks dad)! Anyway, we were gone for maybe two hours, including a quick trip to the grocery store for some baby food (by the way, it's just about $15 a week to feed him the organic good stuff). It was nice to sit down and eat dinner without jiggling a baby on my lap :)  Of course it also felt incredibly weird, because I've pretty much been doing that for a solid 6 months now, 3 meals a day, that's roughly 540 meals! And people wonder why I don't want to leave him that often... he is basically an extension of me! It's like when you leave your cell phone at home and you don't quite know what to do, do you turn around and get it even though you're 15 minutes into your drive? Now, rationally, no, you know you will be fine without it, but you WANT to have it with you! Not the best analogy, but pretty darn close :)

Good news!

So, last night I got an e-mail from the lady (Sandy) who is making my custom UGA diaper. She has an online store on Hyena Cart called Doodle Dypes. She wanted to know if I wanted snaps on it (versus just using pins or a Snappi to fasten it). I told her that I would love snaps, but wanted to know the cost. I then told her that I was SUPER stoked to know that the diaper was in progress, and that I couldn't wait to get it! She e-mailed me back that she would put them on for FREE. Yes, FREE! I love her. Not only is she keeping me totally updated on the progress of the diaper, but she GAVE ME SNAPS FOR FREE :) I'm happy.

By the way, for anyone who is wondering, cloth diapering rocks!

sippy cup?!

We tried a sippy cup out today with Kyson. He drank out of it (surprised! He has never taken a bottle). And with a sigh I have to face that he is growing up :( A SIPPY CUP! He's not a toddler, he's my BABY!! He's sitting up, reaching out, and now this is just one more step towards independence. I can't believe how much he has grown in 6 months. From a teeny tiny newborn who I was just getting to know, to my sweet smiling baby boy :) I wouldn't take back a single second of any day that has made me the mother I am today! But I really wish I could just slow down time a little, so that I could have more time to enjoy the baby that he is, because before long he's going to be toddling out of my reach.

High Five to Josh!

Have I mentioned yet that my hubby is wonderful? Well, he is. Kyson woke up at 7:45. I nursed him and Josh watched him till 9:30 so that I could sleep in :) Of course my "sleeping in" is usually just catch up for waking up at 2am, 4 am, and 5:30am. Kyson hasn't quite figured out that at night you're not supposed to eat, lol. As an extra bonus he was sleepy again at 10:00. After some trial and error while I tried to figure out where he would like to take a nap, he fell asleep in the swing listening to the Beatles Lullaby Josh put on his computer :) Now I get half an hour to eat breakfast, and get on Face Book (yes that is how I spend my two or three 30 minute breaks). I read a quote once that said "Life happens during nap time". Hilarious. LaLa (Lauren, my niece) is supposed to come by at some point today. Besides that, things should be pretty quiet around here today. Josh doesn't go in to work until 4pm. I love the days when we just get to sit around the house in our PJ's, spending time with Kyson and each other (minus him finishing his final). I'm sure he'll want to drag out Guitar Hero at some point. Hey, it's what brought us together! :)

Sitting up!!

Everyone is going to have to excuse the typos on here. The odds are pretty good that I'm either nursing or holding Kyson :) Although right now he's sound asleep in his bed for the night (or atleast for a couple of hours!). He's 6 months old and sat unassisted for the longest time yet today! I got out my camera and started recording and of course that's when he decided he was tired and wanted to lay down again, lol. The past 3 nights he has refused to eat his baby oatmeal. I think mainly because I ran out of pumped breastmilk, and started mixing it with water. I could probably get my supply back up enough to start my stash all over, but it is SUCH a pain to deal with that I think I'm just going to substitute the Earths Best Organic baby food with whole grains. He loves it and eats the whole jar.

I got three Bagshot Row Bamboo (BSRB) fitted diapers in the mail today! They are my favorite cloth diaper so far. All though they are kind of expensive, so I've begun to talk myself out of buying anymore... It's not going too well!! I'm a cloth diapering addict! I ordered them with Organic Bamboo Velour and I LOVE it, much better than bamboo fleece, all though we love that too :)

Josh has two more trips to Carrollton until he is FINISHED with his bachelor's degree!! His graduation is May 8th and I'm SUPER proud of him. He's not really sure what he's going to do after graduation yet. His dreams kinda got shot down when the eye doctor told him his vision wasn't good enough to be on the police force. He's thinking of something along the lines of a probation or parole officer. My mom and sister keep telling me they're not sure he can be strict enough for that job, but I know he can. Especially when he is given authority. He'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. My good man :)

He's at the kitchen table right now, writing a 15 page final, while I'm sitting on my laptop and the TV is still on the sprout channel, with a lullaby playing, lol.

Kyson is getting bigger every day, learning and doing new things. I wanna be able to look back on this post in two or three years and REMEMBER. Really remember, not just a faint memory, but go back in time a little, and feel what I'm feeling right now. If that is at all possible, I think this is how I'm going to achieve it!
